Doesnt that look fun!!!!

Well I ran my first half marathon almost two weeks ago. I think I can now say all the aches and pains are gone. It was a fun race, at least the first 8 miles, I am still trying to decide if there is anyway to call the last 5 fun. If I run it again next year I will definately train with a lot more distance. But with all said and done I was thrilled to reach my goal. I wanted to be under 2 hours and made it by 11 minutes. It really was a great experience and I thought it was awesome to get to run with my sister, uncle, and cousin. Thanks to everyone who came to cheer us on!

I love summer. It is sad to think that in one week summer vacation is over. We went to the library today and people were asking my kids why they weren't in school. I had forgotten most schools have started by now. I have a bit of mixed emotions. We have had a fun but busy summer. We went on three short camping trips, only made it to Walkers dollar movies once, went swimming at the local pools about six times, and played softball and t-ball (I was able to be assistant coach on both M and D's teams. That was crazy but also a lot of fun.) It was all so much fun but I must admit I am exhausted. I am not sure weather to blame it on age, the fun, the kids or the training for the race. Whatever it may be I am hoping that fall/winter will cure it all!:)

It has been a down day today because I have been a little under the weather. While I was catching up on the last month of blogs the kids continued to entertain themselves like they have been all day. I am amazed at how creative they are. They found some boards from the shop and did some abstract painting. Treven was patiently waiting for a turn to paint. They were all 100% entertained for an hour. WOW!
I took Madilyn in today to get tubes in her ears. As they carried her away I had several flashbacks of taking Dallin in to get his tonsils out. I feel like a horrible mom letting a stranger take my baby, drug them to sleep, hurt them, and then letting them wake up to strangers and in pain. And there last memory of mom was her waving goodbye with a forced smile on her face. What a cruel idea! Thats going to take counseling in another 10 years:) This really is pretty hard on me. I hate even taking them to get shots. I almost start crying myself as I hold them close and let someone hurt them. For the love!!!

DAD'S BACK

Matt made it back from Alaska on Friday. He had a lot of fun and we managed just fine while he was gone. Between him and Kody they brought back 125 lbs of mainly salmon and halibut. He learned a lot about fish and it may be hard to ever buy it at the grocery store again. While he was gone we had a sleep over at grandma and grandpas and also with Katie and the boys. A day or two before he got back Makayla decorated both of our mirrors. Matts said I love you, welcome home, etc, etc. Mine said, "Thanks for taking care of us while daddy was gone. I am surprised you could do it." I thought it was so cute and it sure made me laugh.

The kids loved taking care of the cats. I loved cats (as a kid) and just had to bite my lip and let them love them too.
We went to the vet and got a little bottle to try and feed them. They all seemed to eat really good, so hopefully they have a chance
Every time they started to meow Dallin would go over to them and give them a little drink from the bottle. It was cute see them care so much for them.

Grandmas cat has disappeared and just had 4 babies. We tried to help her take care of them today.
