A reason to celebrate

All she wanted for her Birthday was a balloon. I could have gotten away with spending $1.06 today and she wouldn't have known any different. Well, we did get the balloon only to lose it to the sky 3 hours later. (it was still worth it) But we did have to venture to the build-a-bear too. Here is a few pictures of our events of the day.

This washing station was her favorite part.

She's a keeper!

Luckily we did get some pictures of the beloved balloon.
We had walk from one end of Gateway to the other. All the while Madilyn was turning heads. She was pushing her baby stroller, that we had to bring to bring back her bear. Every girl mother and child took a second look and we could hear them saying "She is so cute". I am not quite sure if it was a proud moment or just embarassing. That skirt is! something else though. I love the way is moves while she walks. I missed getting a picture, I felt a bit too much on center stage.

As a kid I remember anxiously awaiting the arrival of my cousins from Idaho. I vividly remember asking my mom how much longer until they would arrive. I remember an hour could seem like a million years. Same thing with Christmas and any other anticipated event. Well yesterday it was all brought back to life only on the other side of the glass. I made the mistake of telling Treven yesterday morning that his cousins were going to be visiting. He asked and asked and asked "how much longer?" then "What does that much time look like?". Then after showing him with my hands opening and closing them for every ten minutes of time. He would ask, "Is that long or short?" So how do you answer that? Is 60 minutes long or short? Poor Treven, I could see and feel his agony. Well the beloved Barker boys made it. Thank you for making our day!

Princess Do

One of Makayla's friends wore her hair like this to church a couple weeks ago. Makayla thought it was awesome so we tried it for ourselves.

It wasn't too bad to do. It took about half an hour from wet hair to curls.

The mom who did it got it off of princesshairstyles.com. They have alot of interesting hairdo's. This was one of my favorite.

Thanks Marsha!

Almost two!

So I am still counting down the few days we have left until Madi's Birthday. I wish it was with enthusiasm, but it's not. I went on a trip to the store and a bow party with my friend today. As we get in the car Madi decides she wants to sit in the carseat Treven picked out. So thinking it might be easier to convince Treven to trade. I tell Treven the carseat is for babies (I wasn't lying, we just have it as a spare and the straps are at Madi's height) So Treven tells me "No, cause I used it when I was a baby" (I guess that means he can still use it.?) Then Madi pipes in "No, Wevie, I am the baby!" I am still laughing when I write it. That girl is something else.

Aren't my babies getting big!

The kids all got PJ's for Valentines Day. Makayla and Madi had to set up poses for their pictures. I just thought this one was perfect for my thoughts lately. And anyone who has been talked to me lately has probably heard too much of this already. I love to see my kids grow and accomplish new things, dont get me wrong. I am really not the kind of mom who talks to their kids and treats their kids like babies forever and wont let them grow up. In fact I consider myself the opposite. I talk to them like a person for the moment they begin to talk. It is just really hard and sad to see my baby turn two. It seem like after they are two they grow up way too fast.

Girls and clothes!

Makayla got some lovely hand-me-downs from a friend the other day. While makayla was having a fashion show trying them all on, Madi decided to join in on the fun. She was trying on jackets, boots and all kinds of great things. It seems this girl was born with her love for clothes.

I thought it was cute that she was trying on the clothes so I decided to take some pictures. But the funny part came in the clean up. As Makayla is cleaning up the clothes to put them away, Madi starts getting mad when Makayla takes any that she tried on and starts telling her "No,mine Makayla, they're mine" It's a good thing they are eight years apart!

Bumps and Bruises

This is how Dallin came home from school on Monday. He doesn't like it one bit. We had to sneak these pictures of him. I was always proud of the bumps and bruises I got as a kid. He wanted no attention drawn to it, so he wore sunglasses all day to hide the black eye.

These pictures really don't do it justice. He got a nice shiner. We're not sure what the other guy looks like.

FREE..zing Zoo day

Natalie and I decided to take advantage of the free zoo day in February. This picture is no exaggeration to the temperature.

I tried to be cheap and not have Madi ride the carousal but she let me know what she thought about that. Needless to say we all road the carousal.
Snow and all we had a great time!

First Grade Program

Dallin had his program tonight. He showed a remarkable improvement from last year. He actually sang all of the songs! He really got into it this year. I had several moms comment on all his moves as he rocked to the tunes. I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I can just hope he didn't inherit my coordination. I love watch those programs. It got a little long for Madi though. They had a huge crowd. We got there 15 minutes early and it was basically standing room. I'll try to get some video on here one of these days.
